2 years ago, i bought a CL2000 printer (Ricoh), thinking that i would be using this one for the upcoming 5 years, as i am not a frequent print-guy, paperless office remember ? Very good printer, stable, fast, not too noisy….
Now after 1year and a few months, the color began to fade. Pages came out semi-printed, right untill the point i couldn’t print anything at all. So i called the Ricoh helpdesk, as i was pretty sure the machine was still under warranty (2years), they told me to contact me reseller, and let him manage the warranty.
So that’s what i did…I sent a mail to the computershop where i bought this machine, very nice people. They told me to bring in the machine, so that’s what i did…So now yesterday i got word of Ricoh, seems like my printer is totally screwed, but what is worse is the reason :
Ricoh service checked my machine and noticed that there was still a coating/plastic underneith 2 of the toner cartridges. (see pictures below). So 2 years ago, when installing the machine, i was stupid enough to pull out 2 of the plastics, and leave 2 others behind ??!…In these kind of situations it’s always my word against theirs, but i am fully convinced that i couldn’t be this stupid leaving 2 of those plastics behind. So now i ask myself :
I was informed there are alot of broken / to-be-replaced parts on the machine. Apparently these costs will climb to about the price of a new machine (or even more expensive), +500€. I attached the pictures below, before you start accusing me how stupid i am, i am really sure i followed instructions, and also fully convinced “home-installations” need to be made “fool-proof”, that means the machine should detect a problem….

Now lets hope when they send this machine back, we can still use some parts. As i know several people that use the same machine.

Alright. 5 reasons why I’m convinced that my penis runs Linux.
1. I can create child processes
2. I can handle multiple users on any platform at once.
3. I’m VERY user friendly.
4. I have incredible uptime.
and 5. When my system load gets too heavy, I end up dumping my core and the system shuts down.

Two ints and a Float are in a bar. They spot an attractive Double on her own. The first int walks up to her. ‘Hey, baby’, he says, ‘my VM or yours?’. She slaps him and he walks back dejected. The second int walks over. ‘Hey, cute-stuff, can I cook your Beans for breakfast?’. After a quick slapping, he too walks back. The Float then ambles over casually. ‘Were those two primitive types bothering you?’, he remarks. ‘Yes. I’m so glad you’re here’, she says. ‘They just had no Class!’

I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by.

I read this story (scroll down and read the description) about a stolen Apple Powerbook. Two theives stole a powerbook in an office in Sydney, Australia. The morons were stupid enough to connect the powerbook (unaltered) on the internet. But thats not all..*mwuhahaha* Stupidity strikes once again, the guys checked the company email, that way they left their ip adress on the mailserver log files…The owner of the portable soon was onto them and decided to send them an email of the security camera showing different image of their faces entering the building…
And it get’s worse !!! Because they got scared by the email sent to them, they decided to called the owner anonymous (yeah right !) on his cellphone to promess he would get the portable back by taxi post if no further actions were taken. They really knew what they were doing as they turned caller-id off !! haha, like thats gonna help….Guys if i were you, i would go find a good lawyer before the police knocks your door down, good luck !
I had a great laugh with this one (full story). One the otherhand, a good lesson for the owner that you should always back up your important information !
